Changing Gear Ratio in ECM

Hi everyone
Does anyone know if the gear ratio in the ecm can be changed with Alpaobd? Or does it even matter?
I changed the vin and injector codes in a used ecm and went for a drive everything worked fine. The truck has 3.92 gears and the
ecm has 3.55. I'm going to get a stage 1 tune I'm undecided about what one to get . Is it worth using a used ecm or just flash the stock one.
Lots of questions. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated The truck is 2018 so is the used ecm

I've heard that improper gear ratio can mess with the cruise control, the gear ratio may be in the VIN, but I'm not sure.
