The gen 2 eco has had a lot of mystery issues,,, But the bottom end obviously is not bulletproof.
Yup the carbon may be the root cause BUT other engines with carbon injection (epa goodies) have fewer failures.

Replacing with another Bosch at the dealer ? The pump design has no provision to prevent the pistons from rotating ..add low lubrocity fuel todays standard and the pump is a known problem.. A pump with a fix is available at 1K plus labor.. BUT of course the dealer has to use the factory...
Just have to throw my 2 cents in...Cleaning this tiny engine up....It seems it was designed for an automobile then adapted to the ram truck...top end designed to breathe lots of valves, dohc to move all the valves, high turbo boost, and then to meet epa buried with sensors, choked with exhaust...
Welcome..I have your engine in my 2014 fully deleted and stage 2 tuned EOC /tranny tune. plus banks manifold. I am not an expert but love the result of my swap. a great running truck..

199,6k very very clean truck but showing metal in oil..Running but obviously problem engine .Aftermarket rims and 60% wide tires.$6K creampuff truck only minor dent in front bumper othewise spotless.

Vaden in Savannah was quite sure 22-k plus was crate engine... I have seen 12? on this site but did not know where that came from...And of course that was a gen 2 engine..since you cannot put a gen3 into a gen 2 truck...
Not knowin what I was getting into.....I...thinking that it was just a bad engine....Bought acreampuff 2014 4x4 with a running...but had metal in oil ...soooo having built and swapped many engines in my 70 plus years ..also bought an 8k mile gen 3 engine...Was I in for a SUPRISE... found this...
I get same message....no codes... But it is caused by my cold return pipe coming loose .. I have banks manifold and throttle body so that is not the issue...just the loose pipe..
My fully deleted gen 3 (stage 2 Mr tune) will blow the cold side line if I push it too hard... same throttle warning...This is a custom line out of 3"aluminum tube and silicone hose..am using T clamps but holding the silicone is an issue.. It seems any leak will get me to limp mode.

gen 3 engine stage 2 tune. When cold return turbo line blows off get same throttle warning and limp mode.. obviously no boost ..so ecm sez limp. Reatttach line obd remove throttle code... no issues runs great.
Sounds like either ecm or turbo good luck ...
EOC canada supplied my stage 2 tune/tranny tune .very happy with totally deleted eco, even removed intake replaced with a banks.
Oil is staying clean, no code issues.
Having an l3 poweed ss ( holden) and a fully deleted 08 6.7 ram/stick... I can honestly say this tiny dohc boosted,ram is a great ride...fully deleted, banks intake, EOC stage 2 /tranny tune...

What shape was your engine in at starting the rebuild? I have my takeout...it was running fine but started showing metal in the filter..I am thinking of building it... How expensive were the parts? Did you do any machine shop work? Valve guides?

Banks intake on...Also ran 2 1/2 from cooler to turbo, took out sharp bend in 2 1.4 needed to pass under stock air filter..have can type filter on inlet...
