EGR Cooler Recall - Issue

Reading and understanding that I am not alone with this ecodiesel issues. After noticing rapid and loud acceleration of radiator fan and string smell of coolant into the cabin, I had my truck towed to the dealer and after 1 week of diagnostics they learned that there’s a recall related to the EGR Cooler system on this truck. With this news I was told that I can Not remove the vehicle from their parking lot till the vehicle has been repaired since this is a safety concern. Now, I‘ve known that I am driving a bomb since the emission upgrade. But for Chrysler corporate to make an statement for me that I can not drive my truck and that I have to rent a vehicle out of packet to get around while my vehicle sit in their parking lot, this is so unbelievable!

Has anyone in the California market experiencing/experienced this same issue that you can share some ideas? My understanding at this moment is that it might take up to 6 months to get the parts for repair. Not Good at all!!

I agree with John. I just can't see how they can keep your truck. Tell them if they don't release it, you'll call the police and report it as stolen.
