New to the forum 7/5/19. Own a 2016 Ecodiesel Laramie since new, currently with 28,000 miles. No problems except a couple of nuisance recalls for tailgate latch and Transmission park settings, oil viscosity change along with ECM/Trans flash . Already did the Eco recall and submitted the claim 2 months ago. Still waiting for approval. Love the truck. I cannot detect any performance differences since the Eco recall two months ago. Fuel mileage remains the same, 24~26 city and 29+ interstate. I tow a 6,000 lbs travel trailer and score 13~15 mpg, same as before the Eco recall. DEF consumption seems the same. I do not have oil or coolant consumption issues. I did notice after a ECM/Transmission flash and the oil viscosity change last year that the truck will downshift to 7th gear going over any slight freeway over crossing, that was disappointing change .

Hoping to learn more about everyone's experience's before and after the Eco flash update

Welcome to the forum! Some users aren’t very happy with their truck post flash. I’d take a look at some threads here to get some more information.

John, I’m glad to hear you’ve had no problems. My truck was a tank before the flash (118,000 miles) and after the flash I’ve had nothing but CEL’s and bad sensors within 400 miles of having it done. It’s been at the dealership more days than it’s been home. Hope you never see any of the problems.

Best Regards

I am sorry to hear that. I have had zero problems.
Just completed the EGR VB1 recall. I did not experience any coolant leakage. Currently have 33k miles. Also did the VA7 recall, although I was not having the problems mentioned in the recall. Only put on 1k miles since having both VB1 and VA7 completed. No leaks, no problems, although I do believe the transmission doesn't downshift as much as it did from a previous ECM/Trans computer flash when the oil vis was changed from 5/30 to 5/40. Unless it was at 70mph or above it would downshift on every freeway over crossing. Now it stays in 8th gear unless the over crossing is pretty steep. I really don't like the ECM/Trans flashes that change the shift patterns.
