Just had my '15 take a $hit on my at just over 83k miles. EGR issue...had it towed to the closest dealership and they called me this morning saying they ordered a new engine. I asked if it was the new gen 2 or the old gen 1, was told it's the gen 1 with the new EGR system. Has anyone had success with this combo? Wondering if i should keep it and chance the new engine or just walk away from it once the repair is made.

Success apparently comes when you tune out the EGR . If you do that after the new engine it should be good for a lot longer! Otherwise it just might fail again.....
