I was driving approximately 40 mph pulling a boat on level ground I heard popping noises like the engine was stalling and saw two Puffs of either white smoke or feel missed through the rearview mirror the engine stalled and would not restart I looked underneath saw no fuel leaking towed home error code says replace fill filter water separator low fuel pressure.
I pulled fuel line off the rails and fuel pressure is very aggressive did not use gauge if I had a nice stream across the driveway for a second engine cranks fine but no detonation I'm thinking high pressure fuel pump or flow regulating solenoid.well open up high pressure fuel pump solenoid and it was full of metal shavings.. regulator
