    Service Electronic Throttle Control

Not that I can really think of. As you can see by my pictures I posted, my intake was pretty bad. If I were you, I would get the tune and drive it. Most likely, if there are any serious mechanical issues, like bottom end bearings, they would have already spun.

I have no experience with other tunes but here is my take on it... GDE does their tune mostly for a better driving experience such as throttle response and cruise control enhancements, just to name a very few of what they all do. Other tuners seem to focus on making as much HP and torque as...

I would clean the intake as best as possible along with either cleaning the MAP (not MAF, that is different) sensor. Install the GDE tune which shuts off the EGR electronically and you should be good to go. I was lucky that my manifold got replaced, which if you are mechanical could be done...

That is not correct. All he needs is to do is install the GDE tune and he will be good to go.

    Service Electronic Throttle Control

Here are some pictures of my intake at 92,000 miles without a tune. I bought my truck used. Now I wish my engine would grenade so I could start over. lol

Here is my take on the GDE tune and the warranty. As TC Diesel suggested, get a second ECM to program and keep your original, or vice versa. I purchased an ECM from www.car-part.com which cost me about $230 or so. Mine was actually from a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the EcoDiesel in it. I sent...

    Service Electronic Throttle Control

As a side bar, I do love my truck. The ride and comfort in my Laramie is just awesome. Best truck I have ever owned. But, I do worry about taking it on a long trip and having the engine grenade. My wife wanted to make a trip around lake Superior and I want to take the truck, but not sure if...

    Service Electronic Throttle Control

Yes, of course. I am over at the other Ram 1500 Diesel forum a lot with most of my postings over there. So, in addition to all of above items they replaced, the last thing that they replaced was the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), which is a $2500 part. After replacing the DPF, the truck...

They are now replacing the intake manifold on mine. Service manager said that when he took the old intake manifold off that there was so much soot in there he was surprised it ran at all.

It Finally Happened....DTC's Cometh.... Had to call in a Ford SD

Bathtub failure? Is that a reference to the lower end and spinning a bearing? My truck is at 93,xxx

It Finally Happened....DTC's Cometh.... Had to call in a Ford SD

Oh interesting. So are we thinking that this class action will actually come through and EcoDiesel owners may be awarded monetary compensation? My Ecodiesel has been in the shop now for six weeks straight as of yesterday. Initially I had the P0299 code "Service Electronic Throttle Control"...

Don't be cryptic. Which tuner. What did GDE do for you? Did they refund your money?

Truck in the shop yet. So far they have replaced the MAF, Turbo boost sensor, all the injectors and rails and lastly, the EGR. The P0299 code has gone away but now getting the P026D code. Had a discussion with the dealer about a GDE tune but since my truck has been elevated to a different...
