Its all done through the ECM. They send you a OBD tool and then you follow their instructions. Word of advice: don't leave the OBD in the truck if car prowls are a thing in your area. Mine got stolen, it was 250 to replace and then I no longer had the original engine file to flash back to stock...
I towed a 3500lb R-pod trailer through some long grades in Canada in 100deg heat. I saw coolant at 220-230 Oil at 240-260 sometimes. Not great. I was turning AC off and driving slower to try and keep it in control. I switched from the fancy Laramie grill to the honey comb one to help as well. I...
I have a Green Diesel Engineering tune on my 2016 and it works great. GDE is very responsive to any issues, it improves mileage, power and throttle response. I highly recommend the Regeneration notification feature so you can make sure the exhaust is fully cleaning itself regularly. I do not...
I personally never fill the DEF all the way up. DEF has a shelf life and will get crusty when old gumming the injector and gauge up. Least thats the way I think about it. I want to be putting fresh stuff in every so often and mine doesn't go through it very fast which is Def a nice thing about...
This sounds totally screwy. I think if I had to pay 2k+ for a known, safety recall issue I'd be making a bigger stink about getting my money back. Those things do take time but man, that seems really wrong.
Is it in limp mode? I believe you should be able to drive it at freeway speeds for about 20-30 minutes and it will clean itself up. This truck needs to go through its regen cycles completely to stay happy. It does not like stop and go or short trips.
Much of the exhaust system should be under a extended warranty due to the emissions scandal. Many dealerships do not seem to be very free with that information. You might want to ask them about it.
I had a DPF sensor go bad on my 2016. I am not the original owner. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it free of charge. The whole diesel gate thing extended the warranty on the emission system apparently. I drove it no problems(maybe went through DPF quicker. .) for months before the...
Dealer should be able to check your VIN and see if it has had all the recalls that they can fix at the moment. There are 2 active ones they can't right now. If the previous owner took care of it well its probably had them. Run some diesel fuel treatment, I like hotshots, to help lubricate the...
I believe this is a code I got awhile back. I drove it for 2months with no issues. Part of that is cause I'm lazy and part was because the dealer couldn't get me in for a bit. Dealer said it was the DPF sensor that had gone bad and replaced it under warranty. No biggy.
My truck has 75,000 overall, I've only put 15,000 on myself. I wasn't accusing you of anything, just curious. If you drive it like a Grandpa, same as me, then shame on FCA, your truck should work.
For the original poster, its crazy how many problems you've had and diverse ones at that. Rear camera light, fuel system etc? How are you driving the truck? I have a 2016 Laramie and while I've only put about 15,000mi on it I've had 0 issues with it. Curious how you would describe your driving...
