    Good stories on Ecodiesel

Thanks for the reply. Lets don't worry about the blown motor. Lets talk about the new one. It was installed in April 22. Its the latest model number that would fit in the 2016 Longhorn. I would only assume that the dealer brought it's software to current. I have had no non-stock tune on engine...

    Good stories on Ecodiesel

Hello. I had my engine turn a bearing at 74k miles. Well maintained.. etc. I read about this happening all over the interweb. 🙂 I replaced the engine out of warranty at the dealership. Now I have a new motor with a 3 yr/100,000 mile warranty. I love the engine. However, I am scared s**tless...

Is this 2018 EcoDiesel dead (rod bearings failure) ?

same thing happened to me - 74k miles 2016 - out of warranty. what's funny is we love the motor - until it leaves us stranded on the road. Got no staying power. I have heard wives tale of some with 300k miles on them. I hear more about about what happens to us. I should have bought a Cummins.

    2016 Ecodiesel catastrophic engine failure

Oh, sorry if I was not clear.. I paid 14k for a new motor with 3/yr 100000/mi warranty. None to happy about it at the time, for sure. Funny thing is I had no warning this was going to occur. Warning light came on, engine starting losing power, pulled over to the shoulder, it idled for about 30...

    2016 Ecodiesel catastrophic engine failure

Yes, this happened to me. 2016 Longhorn. 74k miles - 6 months out-of-warranty. Engine seized on highway pulling a small camper. April 2022. No engines avail in junkyards (which I wasnt really considering), best option was to purchase a new engine from the dealer. Took 8 weeks to get back, $14k...

Engine Failure - Warranty Claim - DENIED

Same thing happened to me. The cab has to be taken off the frame to install the engine. I paid the 14k. Got 100k dealer warranty. Beats saving 4k otherwise.

Engine Failure - 2016 Ecodiesel - 74,000 miles - out of warranty by 6 months!

Yep. I drove it Thursday and Friday. It seems like the same truck. I went camping this weekend and since the engine is so new I decided not to pull my camper up the mountain with it I used a 2005 Ford expedition with 200,000 miles on it instead. 🙂

Engine Failure - 2016 Ecodiesel - 74,000 miles - out of warranty by 6 months!

They told me at first that they had no ETA. Then about 3 weeks later they started to give me delivery dates to the shop. And every time it was pushed out two days or 3 days. And then one day he called and said it shipped from Michigan. They got the engine in on Friday they removed the cab on...

and 3 year - 100,00 mile warranty. I could have done it for less, but I wouldn't have had that warranty

Engine Failure - 2016 Ecodiesel - 74,000 miles - out of warranty by 6 months!

**Update** if you read my thread, My engine failed at 74k miles - 5.5 years (2016 model - August) Maintained correctly. FCA would not offer any assistance. I called 3x, I sent a letter. Complained to the dealer. no help. Engine and installation is $14k without sales tax. getting a version "E" (I...

Engine Failure - 2016 Ecodiesel - 74,000 miles - out of warranty by 6 months!

One more question - does that pan reduce clearance? or in other words would it be the first thing to scrub a rock if off road. I dont take it off road really, but I dont want to worry about that hitting. OH, BTW - the engine failed on 2-12-2022. I am finally getting it back today, $14k later -...
