FYI - FCA is resisting any notions of buyback even if it is legally justified. I have raised two separate cases and been trying to force buyback of my truck since Jan 2 (It has been in the dealer shop for EGR cooler issue and exhaust leak for 58 days and counting) . So far nothing but...
I got the same letter and came to a similar conclusion. This is FCA's carefully worded way of admitting that the original AEM tune was a piece of garbage and clearly has caused enough customer complaints that they had to address it. I will probably request my dealer to apply this December...
Just received that letter yesterday as well. My truck has been in the shop for the last 52 days because of the EGR cooler safety issue (no repair parts availability). I just reached out to the service manager and told her I want the updated AEM applied as well before they return it to me...
AMEN brother - it's CYA time for FCA. The language in that letter is a lame attempt to downplay the fact that they lied to their customers once again and screwed up our vehicles with the original AEM update. However, buried in the softened language is a clear admission that they screwed us...
FYI - Now on day #52 and my truck is still at the dealer. Also on day #15 of trying to force a buyback. They wrote up my original case wrong and it took 8 days for a case manager to respond only to find out she was not the right person. Opened a second case a week ago, but still waiting for...
In the case of my servicing dealer they did supply me with a demo tradesman crew cab as a loaner. It is nowhere near the trim level of my Longhorn Limited, but does have 4wd, a hemi engine and runs... I suspect the loaner policy may vary by and be dependent on how long the vehicle is expected...
Awesome, thanks for providing this! Should be helpful as backup in case I get pushback from Chrysler. I made several calls to the dealer, Ecodiesel Hotline and Chrysler Customer Care yesterday - both dealer and Hotline just referred me to the Chrysler Care 800-247-9753. At first the Chrysler...
So I am at day 31 waiting for my truck to be repaired for the EGR safety issue (still at the dealership). I reached out to those lawyer dudes via their website weeks ago, but no one ever replied. Where in the settlement can i find the statement indicating i can request a warranty buyback...
Wish I could tell you, but my truck is still sitting at the dealer waiting for parts (since before Thanksgiving). Service dept claims no replacement parts available...
Can't say for sure, but I suspect not AEM related since this seems to be a fatigue or time related failure of the coolant lines running through the EGR chamber. When this failure occurs coolant will start leaking into the exhaust chamber and mix with the hot exhaust. I think the problem of "no...
The actual wording FCA uses on the Ecodiesel claim site are: "the AEM is not expected to change any of your key vehicle attributes"...carefully worded to make you feel good about getting the recall done, but leave themselves a legal way to escape. I'm certain their defense would be that due to...
Guess I'm a little surprised that Sofa King is still selling offering an ECM tune after the latest regulations on aftermarket products went into effect. I tried to purchase a GDE tune last month and was informed they couldn't sell one to me anymore. Let us know how the tune works for you.
