Also, here's some information about the conditions that can cause the P06BC error: a condition causing high resistance in the wiring circuit (corroded terminal, loose connector at the glow plug, pinched wiring, etc), the glow plug itself is starting to go bad, or the glow plug control unit has...
It was intermittent. Ut would come on, I would make an appt. but they would never see it. Finally when it happened again I took it straight over there so they could see it and pull the P06BC code. That's when they replaced the #4 glow plug. They applied the flash and then it took around a week...
Finally got this fixed today! Light came on, took it straight to the dealer so they could see the P06BC code.
They replaced the #4 glow plug and no more flashing light!
It didn't take that long so the plug must not have been very corroded in the head.
Good luck with your issue
I thought buying new would alleviate these problems as well. Only 3100 miles and this happens. I guess if this is it for the life of the truck I will be lucky!
My light came back on today. Same P06BC code but after turning off and back on again it's gone. You can see it in the pending status though inside the Torque app. Made another appointment and this time I am staying right by the truck to make sure they do something other than just clear the code.
Got mine back today and the dealer said a 'PCM flash' fixed this issue. I'm hoping they didn't just clear the code, but I guess we'll see..
Will update if it happens again.
Thank you for the very descriptive and informative process!
I just got the P06BC code too and I'm hoping the #4 glow plug will cure it's ills. It has just 3100 miles so if this is only thing that happens to it I will thank my lucky stars!
Yeah, if you don't find a killer deal new or used, I would wait to see what the 2nd gen eco's look like. I heard they should be out by spring of this year.
Read up on the GDE tune, deleting the EGR, DPF, and the SGR (catalitic converter I think)
Grab one of those drain plug things for the oil changes, and everyone says to only use Mopar fuel filters. For oil they say Ecoguard is okay, but I grabbed a Mopar one for now.
