Hey! Congrats on the truck, hope you're loving it. There are three things to know\do regarding cold weather: use an antigel additive like OptiLube XPD if you're frequently leaving the truck in sub freezing temps for long periods; use a cold weather front once it starts freezing (Google ecodiesel...
Congrats on the truck! I own a 2014 Outdoorsman, bought new, just rolled 50k miles and I won't be deleting until the emissions system fails. Reasoning is simple, there is no significant gain in power or efficiency with a full delete and it will likely void your powertrain (unless you have an...
I left the EGR in place. When my powertrain warranty is up I'll delete the EGR and related components. I'll do a full delete when something fails, like DPF. The tune has been great! Engine is much cleaner (as evidenced during oil changes) and responsiveness is still great. No issues or CELs and...
Welcome! Glad to hear you love your truck so much! Enjoy putting all of your own personal touches on it and feel free to ask any questions or for recommendations.
Exactly. Poorly thought, poorly planned, poorly executed, and poorly supported. I want this type of capability, but I'm adulting right now and waiting until there is a better vendor or better product.
I've reached out to Linkswell (supplier) and the distributor, maybe I'll get a response in the next few days. The research I've done shows conflicting operating systems, as in the description says Android 6.0 and the spec sheet says 4.4.4 (on Phoenix's website and on an eBay site). These units...
I think the point is the premium we (some) paid for the diesel option. To be clear I love my truck and have no complaints or desire to get rid of it. My only issue is the extra few thousand I spent for an option that is being meddled with and now in a lawsuit. So the question remains: what is...
Has anyone joined the class action suit with a law firm? I was contacted by a firm asking me to join but I'm unaware of the benefits and consequences. Any advice?
One other thing I was thinking about since you mentioned the truck was pulled behind an RV a lot; was it on a trailer or towed? My concern is that the previous owners didn't know how to tow it. You have to manually place the transmission in neutral (lever on the transmission housing) to tow it...
The transmission does learn, which is another reason to get the TCU flashed; it can learn your driving habits and adapt. The previous owners may have had some weird driving habits. You'll love the GDE tune, it makes it a whole different truck. GDE also just came out with a transmission tune...
The lurching isn't normal. First place to start is re-flashing the transmission control unit and see if that fixes it. The ZF 8 speed is really smooth. Without knowing anything about maintenance of your truck you may want to service the transmission. Did you get a tune to delete the EGR?
