Do eco-diesel engines require a block heater like the old 5.9s?

It depends. What climate do you live in? I live in Minneapolis and when it gets below zero I plug in. However a couple of nights ago I forgot when it was -14 and it started right up.

Yes! I have one on mine, makes a big difference if ambient is below freezing. I did start at lower temps, slow crank and stalled when pulling out of a snow drift.
