Use a mirror and a good flashlight to get a good look at the rubber boot on your turbo inlet. I’ve had about 10 DTC’s pop up one morning from a loose hose clamp. Pushed it back in place and tightened it up, all issues went away instantly.
For anybody curious on what AFE power said:
I suggested that they might add a aftermarket solution for the plastic pipe that bridges from the turbo to the lower hot side pipe as there were many people searching for a solution. Who knows maybe they’ll come out with one.
...the whooshing noise stops it regains power and is fine until it happens again. If you stay in the throttle the service electronic throttlecontrol flashes on the gauge cluster and it throws the 3 codes seen in the picture. I think it’s possibly the waste gate but I’m not entirely sure and...

...water areas, drove another 5 or 6 miles, and within a block from my house, the dash started screaming at me to "Service Electronic Throttlecontrol" - a message I've seen before - however, rather than a steady icon, it was blinking. Next, I noticed the transmission was locked in 4th gear -...
Yes thank you. I have actually had this sensor replaced and air intake cleaned twice and tested for leaks now with none found and there is still build of soot triggering the sensor and setting off the throttlecontrol light.
Anything you suggest in this case?
I have a 2014 eco diesel that’s deleted. The service electronic throttle light came on with no check engine light. When I monitor the EGT 1 sensor it’s reading 32 degrees consistently either parked or driving, measured the resistance of the temp sensor and it’s at 257 K ohms. (Sensor looks new)...

Service Electronic Throttle is a generic code for these trucks. A very common issue is the connection with cabling underneath the truck below the driver’s seat. It is along the rail. Disconnect your battery, open up that connection and put dialectic grease on the connections. Another issue is...
...Long time listener, first time caller, I have a 2017 1500 with 143,000 mi and my truck lost power with the Service Electronic ThrottleControl warning on the dash. I limped home from work and checked here first and watched some videos. Most common thing I saw was to clean the EGR tube and...
My truck did the same thing last month. It's the crankshaft position sensor. In order to fix it your going to have to remove the transmission. . . Hopefully your engine is ok....might need a new one too.
Just received a quote to replace/service the electronic control - $1200.00 Any word that RAM will cover any of these costs? I have a 2015 pickup, 122K miles that I expected to last at least another 80,000 miles. After 20 recalls you would think lemon laws would kick in. My plan now is to have...
Update…I replace the MAP Sensor and the truck started right up with no issues. I purchased the MAP Sensor new on Ebay for $34, Dodge and AutoZone wanted $300 plus for the same part…crazy!
Last week my 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel would crank but wouldn’t start. A message popped up “Service Electronic ThrottleControl”. I cleaned the MAP sensor, EGR tube and the Electronic Throttle Body of all soot. Afterwards the truck started right up and then the truck a day latter started doing the...
I had the same issue, I also have a message to service the electric throttlecontrol. My MAP sensor is clean and so is my EGR tube. My truck turns on and drives fine but sometimes it cranks but no start.
Good evening all,
The ETC warning light came on out of nowhere this past week. Turned off my 2018 Ecodiesel and when I went to turn it back on the truck was having trouble starting. Called the dealer and was thinking it was fuel pressure related as I got my high pressure fuel pump replaced...
2014 Ram (158,000 miles currenlty) About 3,000 miles ago It started missing like water in the fuel. Then just died on the way home. High pressure fuel pump went out (covered under warranty) and in tank fuel pump went out at same time. Dodge would not cover the in tank so I had to replace it...
That's a common problem if there's over 150,000 miles. When the service light is on the truck cannot Regen. I just had to have the throttle valve replaced. Once that was done the truck was able to regen and my service light has been off. $198,000 miles and it's running good now. The other...
I had throttlecontrol warning, first dealer said turbo was shot, $5000 replacement. 😱Fortunately limped it home to my local dealer, they fixed it for $800, can’t remember exactly what they did, sorry, I’m not at home with the paperwork now. Good lduh, hope you get it resolved.
