    So sad

What year is the truck? I just had my 2016 EGR cooler replaced in February, under warrantee. (CANADA) But I recall him saying, it was under the 3 year, 60,000 km warrantee, of which, at the time, I was at 2 years, 11 months, and 56,000 km, so I just squeezed in the time line. In Canada, we're...

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

Thanks John, sorry if my comment sounded like bashing. I appreciate you sharing some stats, that's really helpful information. I'm curious how far you can go between regen's on highway driving. The update feature is definitely a handy one to have, no need to visit or send stuff there and...

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

who's bashing, I didn't see any bashing? My point was I'd like to hear from the many guys like you that now have SFT with your feedback on this new tune. John Jensen, I read a lot of your posts on here and I really appreciate all your insight, knowledge and feedback, as it helps everyone...

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

Yes, but comments from people who have GDE and share their love for it are totally different then GDE coming on here and flooding the boards promoting themselves. I'd much rather read comments from people using SKT's (good, the bad) than from SKT slipping in ads to promote their product all...

Exhaust bolts Part of maintenance ? New to me!!!

Me too, I've taken my DEF injector off regularily to clean it out, and it's so far back away from the intakes, that doesn't even seem physically possible... I think you're being taken for a $$$$ ride.

The Legend of the Missing Coolant

I didn't remove my egr cooler, my dealer did, yes, on my invoice there are 3 O-rings, 3 gaskets, and bushings. MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure. There's a MAP sensor just above the turbo attached to the intake. Takes one bolt to take it off and see how dirty it is... If you fast forward...

The Legend of the Missing Coolant

How would he know if you removed it, I doubt it'll void your warantee. You're not changing anything, simply checking it. It's up to you and your comfort level. It's a very easy job, about 20 min. It's 4 little bolts, take them off, remove the egr diffuser tube, check it out, take some...

The Legend of the Missing Coolant

It's sad how so many people on these forums know more about our Ecodiesels than some of the dealership mechanics... If I were you, I wouldn't let them lift my truck yet until there's a qualified diesel mechanic on site!! I don't know the internals well enough, but I'd be willing to bet that...

The Legend of the Missing Coolant

Agreed 100% with CS In Alabama. That's a serious problem if it's leaking that bad, you'll do a lot more damage to the engine. If you see no leaks, then it's your EGR cooler, a very common problem on these, so it's being sucked right into your intakes. I also have a 2016 and I noticed this...

I loved my eco diesel until blowed motor

I know my dealer said that the Euro 5W30 was way too thin for this truck, in his words, it was like running on piss. I have a 2016 and I switched to Rotella after about 5000 km from when I got it new, so hopefully the first 5000 km running Euro blend didn't do a lot of damage, only time will...

I loved my eco diesel until blowed motor

That really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. No one wants this ever to happen to such an expensive investment. Out of curiosity, were you using Rotella T6 oil? or the original Euro 5W30 oil? I'd hesitate on putting in a used one, you don't know what it's been through and if...

The Legend of the Missing Coolant

Sounds like your dealer is not a diesel specialist! Mine knew exactly where to look as soon as I was loosing coolant. First thing he took off was the EGR diffuser tube (4 bolts). Instantly, he could tell me that the EGR cooler was leaking (a very common issue under warrantee) based on the...

Transmission Fluid Change for the Ecodiesel ZF 8HP45

New user - what to do after AEM?

Congrats on the truck! It's pretty normal not to get the same mpg in the winter. Diesel engines are a LOT of metal which takes a lot longer than a gasoline engine to get up to operating temps. So when they are cold, they drink more diesel, once you get them up to operating temps, it is...
