It just happened to me - 2016 Eco Diesel burst into flames

All somewhat sound advice, except, when something is meticulously maintained and insured properly it’s kind of a moot point. Fords recall is for an engine block heater, and they’re admitting the problem, and fixing it. FCA could give a crap less that the EcoDiesel is blowing up left and right...

It just happened to me - 2016 Eco Diesel burst into flames

Wish I didn’t know what you’re going through, and I can say from personal experience I will never own an FCA product again after mine burned down. Insurance didn’t give me near enough money, these trucks are virtually worthless. I had Gap and that took care of it, regardless though it was a...

    Banks intake manifold install?

Well being as there’s no instructions, depending on how mechanically inclined you are would be the deciding factor. Unless you want to spend the coin and pay an independent shop to put it on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Would you buy again

Never again will I own an FCA product, mine kinda just spontaneously combusted on me while driving down the interstate. Mine was a 2016 with 55k miles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many miles on your ecodiesel and have you had any problems?

Yeah I was one of the possible crazy Ecodiesel owners that wanted to see how far it could go, unfortunately mine only made it to 55k miles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many miles on your ecodiesel and have you had any problems?

I did try to shut the engine off, but it tried to stay running, was really weird sounding, obviously cause it was on fire. I did wash the truck, and sprayed some degreaser and washed the engine the day before it burned down actually, there were no signs of leaks or anything prior that I could...

How many miles on your ecodiesel and have you had any problems?

I did take the foam out and kept the truck really clean. However I did have the front timing chain cover re-sealed by a dealer recently. Not sure what needs to be taken off the engine to do this job. such as fuel rails and what not. I’m not sure what caused this, mere seconds before this...

    Reliabilaty

Seems like if they’re gonna blow they’re gonna blow, if you get a good one they’ll last for a long time. All mechanical things fail, including the Cummins, be a happy and motor on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ram EcoDiesel Oil Change Information

Can get luberfiner oil filters for $9.13 and they’re identical to factory mopar except color of the big gasket. Specs out the same as far as micron rating and material according to what I can find.

quantum blue... has anyone had any experience with it.

That’s technically how it’s supposed to be for anything aftermarket that you put on your vehicle. They’re not supposed to be able to void your warranty if it can’t be proven that an aftermarket part caused the damage. Unfortunately they have deeper pockets than most of us and better lawyers.

quantum blue... has anyone had any experience with it.

Never heard of it, I’m a pretty big fan of Schaeffer’s and LE- Lubrication Engineers fluids.

    Disappointment

The tires are garbage, swapped mine in less than 2000 miles, not a huge Ram fan myself honestly. Kind of a Ford guy, but other than the tires I don’t have anything bad to say about my ecodiesel. There are mechanical issues with all types and makes of engines, sounds like you have a bad one.

    Ram EcoDiesel Oil Change Information

Yeah, I know where I live and work they have different stages for the blend strength, as it’s supposed to get colder the percentage of #1 diesel goes up considerably. However I have noticed some stations are now just blending in additives and the fuel is only good to -9. Have to be careful with...

    Ram EcoDiesel Oil Change Information

You don’t really want the update if you want really good fuel economy. It doesn’t really do anything beneficial that I can personally see. My mileage went down, but I also installed heavier 10 ply tires and switched over to winter diesel around the same time it was done.

    Eco Diesel Exhaust Filter issues

I can guarantee with a delete though he's not gonna have to worry about replacing the particulate filter again............... I'm not saying I'm for deleting the truck, but you want a permanent fix to exhaust filter issues, the only way to do that is to get rid of it. It used to be 3/4-1 tons...
