YUUP! that pretty much settles it. I would say this time if a repair isn't made that you would be eligible for the buyback. But that's just what I understood from what @John posted in the pic.
So heres the deal from what I know.
As long as there is the possibility of a repair, they wont do a buyback. Unless it is something that they cannot figure out, or will pretty much "total" the vehicle; you won't have any luck on a buyback opportunity.

As for spun bearings, the only company I have the slightest clue about that may be able to help, is D&J Diesel in Midvale ,UT. You would have to go to Utah and drop the truck off to them for about 2 days. They do a "Bulletproofing" Ecodiesel Engine package for around $2-3k.

That Is very True. All it takes is a piece/chunk of carbon/soot falling down into the intake and the TCS light will come on. I had to have my intake manifold/assembly replaced 2 weeks after I bought my truck used with 40,000 miles.
