I ended up getting rid of mine too.
For whatever reason fca told my dealer they had to give me a loaner.
Dealer suggested pick something out of our used inventory, maybe we can work it out. End result is I’d definitely recommend dealership, but not that stock 1/2 ton 3.0 v6.
I’m assuming you’re referring to the truck being happier on highway rather than town driving?
Im the second owner, I guess I can blame the first guy then. My commute changes, but it’s usually 45-60 minutes of highway... I try to avoid town as much as can, too many tourists!
Ha, no mention of that.
They were pretty vague as to their findings when they inspected the engine. Definitely need to educate myself on that one before I start firing off questions. Regarding coolant traveling where it’s not supposed to be.
Happy (for now) fca admitted they need to make loaners...
Just talked to dealership.
FCA told dealer to give me a loaner vehicle.
FCA claims permanent fix for EGR cooler April 2020.
Still same deal, if truck is on the road check coolant levels weekly.
All good news to me.
Full of soot.
A fire hazard.
Not to be driven.
This is what dealership told me that FCA told them about her.
I’m sure plenty of people on this forum have been down this road.
Contact FCA or the firm dealing with settlement?
I purchased it used. About 40k on it.
“My 2 previous trucks were Chevy Silverado’s I sold both of them with over 200,000 miles.”
I feel your pain. My two previous trucks were Chevy’s as well. I actually traded in a working, reliable one for my 2016 ram. Which is currently in the shop, with the tech dismantling the engine taking pics...
Currently going through this same issue, truck back in the shop for cold start (2nd time in a week). Same exact symptoms.
Also dealer mentioned the recall today. Told me about egr and mentioned the water pump might be up for replacement as well.
Speaking of fuel filters...
Brought truck in for check engine light (unsure of code) this week. Their first move was to check fuel filter, which they told me was in such bad condition it fell apart.
What else should I be concerned about?
Also I’ve only driven truck less than 2000 miles. Do I...
Thanks for the the advice.
First repair was nox related (sensor).
5 days later, truck almost overheated, coolant reservoir was very low (...1/2” or so).
Went to add coolant, cap broke into pieces.
And then another warning light.
Right on, thanks. we’ll see how it goes.
Don’t like to put people out not in person, but truck was back at dealership the following opening day.
Admitted no pre sale inspection.
Hello everyone!
Been lurking for past 3 weeks figured I’d come out of hiding.
New (used) 2016 ED owner. About 40k miles. Owned for 2 months, going back into the shop next week for second time.
Currently feeling the pain of owning an untested engine.
Can’t wait to read up on threads concerning...
