I believe the EGR cooler failure is a recall Item on the Ram 1500 eco diesel. So even if you are out of warranty it should be replaced by dodge at no cost to you. Call them CFC canada of the dodge affiliate

Oh ya hows that. Who makes the bullet proof EGR cooler. You would think dodge would know about the issue with EGR coolers and come up with some type of service interval for them say every 25,000 km.

Agreed if you can't see the leak or fluid it might be the EGR cooler.

Secrets diesel additive I have heard works well. I just bought a jug for $120 CAD. I will try and find the guy that did a you tube video on several diesel additives. Go to you tube and put "Diesel Fuel Additive Test" in the search bar. It is a good video if it all the information is true.

I had a 2016 eco diesel the EGR cooler failed the coolant gets evaporated and blown out the exhaust you won't see it on the ground if you have this issue. Best to keep an eye on your exhaust when sitting idle and running.

I bought a new 2016 eco diesel and I didn't have any issues until it had about 98,000 Km. Failed EGR cooler and melted intake manifold with a cracked fuel line hence the recall for possible engine fire. only issues I had so far. I waited 2 months for the warranty parts and finally got it fixed...
