So many factors that affect MPG ... I live in the Denver area and I am not convinced that altitude doesn't affect it, plus I have the 3.92 rear axle with 4x4, and during winter I was averaging 19 in town, in summer more like 22-23. Best I ever saw was driving around Yellowstone NP cruising...
40000 and no major issues, had it GDE tuned a few months ago and my winter mileage is up by 3 to 4 mpg, and it warms up much quicker than it did last winter ... love this truck... will be getting the transmission tune from GDE soon too ... might as well make this truck as good as it can be ... ...
I have had mine 1.5 years, almost 23000 on it, about 15% of that towing small camper around Colorado and nearby states, plenty of mountain passes, LOVE THIS TRUCK!!! I often get an distrusting look by F150 EcoBoost owners when they try to brag about their 18mpg on highway ... and I chuckle ...
Planning a trip for this summer to Glacier Nat'l Park with the camper. Every campsite we have been at, the truck has been a conversation starter, lots of people interested and curious. They really pause when I give them some MPG numbers.
Sorry it has taken so long to reply, so far my towing has been like I posted and this truck has never given pause. Going up some of the mountain passes I did reach over and turn off the AC, just to be on the safe side and not press my luck. The camper I pull is light-weight but not low-profile...
