EcoDiesel 2014 - “Truck will not start in 195 Miles. Fill DEF

My truck is giving a message “Engine will not start in 195 Miles - Refill DEF” but the tank is full of DEF. The gauge has not worked correctly for a while but my mechanic told me to keep the DEF tank full as it’s just the tank sensor. Now the truck gave a message “Truck will not start in 500 Miles, Fill DEF” I checked and refilled DEF tank but message continues. I have 205 miles left to get to Florida and now I’m scared to keep driving Incase truck gets messed up and shuts down on me. Is it safe to continue it should I park and get a hotel room for the night.
