Hello all. Here is the issue; 2017 Ecodiesel with 122k miles that is deleted. I am the second owner, and it was deleted when I bought it. Had the truck since 20k miles. Everything with the truck is awesome aside the the problem I am describing now. Here is the history of what has lead to this post.
- About two years ago, on a cold start, when I put the truck into reverse, the rpms dropped below 500 into what I can only describe as a limp mode. Would not move. after taking time to think, figured out it was the battery. Replace the battery, all is good.
- About one year later, same thing happened, but battery was healthy. Figured out if I would brake/gas it together a little, put it in gear, all was great. And, of course it was the alternator. Had someone replace the alternator (not an OEM), all was fine.
- Now, I am having a similar issue. But here is the difference. If I start my truck, let it get to 13v, brake/gas into gear all is good once I get moving. While the truck is still not to normal running temp, I shift into neutral at lights or stops, brake/gas when I start moving. Once I have run the truck for about 20 minutes, the 'lag' goes away and I have no issues. Everything else is great. I drive about 60 miles each way to work and getting 27-29 mpg. Everything else works great. Anyone have any thoughts. I did have someone a test on the battery and alternator that showed no issues (what they said). I do see that the battery is 69% for the state of charge. Had one person say that the alternator has to be a Mopar or there are issues.
