Hope you have better luck on tune..Gen 1 here, as to install shouldn't be different. Prior to install STG 2 SFt tune.
Reached out to them, GONE. Optimus claims to have "taken over" SFT, they simply replied no tune for that intake and ghosted me. MRT got my money for a new tune, told me they can tune it but it's been a real struggle to get direction or help in the last month.
So advice- verify with tuner that they can address the issues that will arise.
cp4x pump in hand.. reroutes flow from bottom end back to tank NOT into rails, plus pins buckets so they cannot rotate..Just for reference, I'm running an SFT stg 1, EGR restrictor (home made, about $5, been running it since 125k mi), and the Banks intake pipe (between filter and turbo). Everything else on the truck is stock - DPF, SCR, muffler, etc. Engine has just shy of 180k mi, and when I changed my oil yesterday at 6500 mi, it was just starting to turn blackish but not near opaque. To me, it looked about like a gas engine's oil at that mileage.
My point being that if you get a clean running tune and reduce the EGR/carbon flow, these engines can live a long time. Also, the CP4 pump absolutely NEEDS a fuel additive to increase lubricity, for it to last.
Sounds like you're using the wrong oil. What are you using? Certainly not T6.cp4x pump in hand.. reroutes flow from bottom end back to tank NOT into rails, plus pins buckets so they cannot rotate..
Still in my mind better to add lube to fuel to help rollers. BUT I think this will solve the cp4 problem. I know it is one issue off the list..
