Truck Year
2016
I traded my 2010 Ram SLT 4x4 for a 2016 Ram EcoDiesel Laramie. The EcoDiesel is decent truck, I used to get about 24 mpg now its 20.4mpg. The truck hesitates sometimes when trying to accelerate on to a up ramp or pulling out into traffic. I I recently got codes P2D2D, P0128, P050E, P200A. I believe there maybe sone recalls out there. Thanks for any insight.

Welcome!
  • P2D2D & P200A: These codes relate to the intake manifold runner (swirl valve) performance, often due to carbon buildup causing the valves to stick. This can lead to reduced engine performance, especially at low RPMs.
  • P0128: Indicates that the engine coolant temperature is below the thermostat regulating temperature, suggesting a potentially stuck-open thermostat. This can result in decreased fuel efficiency and increased emissions.
  • P050E: Points to the exhaust system not reaching the required temperature quickly during cold starts, which may be due to a faulty exhaust temperature sensor or issues with the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system.

Addressing these codes promptly by inspecting and cleaning the intake manifold, replacing the thermostat, and checking the exhaust temperature sensors can help maintain your EcoDiesel's performance and longevity.
