Hi everyone does having a stage 1 tune void your power train Warranty?
I would think shutting off the egr would be a good thing . Does anyone
have any first hand experience with drive train warranty claims being
denied because of tuning? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too difficult
for them to tell if you ever had it tuned . Is it an issue? I'm on the fence
Do I risk my warranty or do I tune? I like the engine and I'm probably
going to keep it a long time it's an 18 with 32000miles on it and 5 years
of powertrain warranty. Any thoughts would be appreciated . Thanks Al

Do I risk my warranty or do I tune? I have never heard anyone say they were sorry they tuned their truck, many have wish they did I like the engine and I'm probably
going to keep it a long time it's an 18 with 32000miles on it and 5 years

My opinion is wait to tune until you are out of warranty. It is a $12,000 repair to replace the engine should it fail and you already have over $30,000 miles on it. Mine failed at 57,000 miles and was covered under warranty. I would bet most dealers will not honor the warranty if tuned. For only two years of warranty left, you would be taking a huge risk.
