2015 Grand Cherokee, 100k mi bought 10 days ago the fan wont run, in traffic temp starts creeping up but if i run the a/c fan runs on low and temp goes back to normal, replaced temp sensor, same problem, auto electrician found no codes but was able to make fan run at normal speed from the scan tool. He recommended I install a temp sensor from the dealer and still same problem, any thoughts?

What's the temperature creeping up "To" ?

If memory serves, the fan relay works with the sensors, but the AC sort of overrides it - at least in most vehicles I've ever dealt with. Tried playing musical relays with the fan relay?

The grand cherokee doesn’t show the coolant temp but the oil temp goes up to 224 when the gauge shows 3/4 mark

Hrm... these little pasta-diesels typically run oil temps around 200-230 on the regular, at least that's what I've gathered around here. If the coolant temp gauge is hitting 3/4 though... that's a bit of a worry. If you know anybody with a scanner that can give you real-time readings, maybe have a look at what the actual temp the ECU is reporting as opposed to the gauge needle.

I think playing musical relays if they're the same (all 5 of mine are the same on the Ram TIPM) and seeing if the fan kicks on as it should with a swapped over one may start nailing this down.

The Ecodiesel thermostat is fully open at 208 F. yes the oil temp will track slightly higher than water temp after a long enough drive so yes you may be in over temp territory. I follow along with a relay issue. The fan is electric and is constant variable speed type. If you have replaced the temp sensor the relay would be the best bet. Confirm engine temp with a quality live data scanner, you don't really need one that can reset or recalibrate, just read data.
My wife's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel has 229K miles. Good Luck.
