Hello im new to the fourms. I have a 2014 ram 1500 ecodiesel. I had my truck die with the low rail pressure code come on. I had it towed to the dealership to have the hpfp replaced under the recall. They replaced it and said that wasnt the issue that the fuel pressure regulator is bad and they want $1700 bucks to fix it. I was wondering where the regulator is located and if it easy to replace myself? I really appreciate any advice.

I would think that would have been part of the pump replacement, unless pump did fail and sent shards of metal in the fuel and they’re going to Nickle and dime you now 😅 not sure where it’s located but I’d follow the lines and see if you see it. Should be on top of engine somewhere!

Yea 100% what they are doing lol. I replaced it myself and it wasnt the issue. Im getting a code for low rail pressure and sensor A is bad so they would've tried to charge me for that also.

Can you hear your in tank pump?
At this point need to diag rail pressure/ lift pump pressure ect,

my truck will never see a dealer again. My local crook said they barely have a diesel tech much less for the eco platform. Said that they’re putting too much tech and sensors for mechanics to keep up with everything.
