Have had hpfp done, lift pump is brand new. It's not a fuel issue. This is coming after fixing all my fuel issues. I have codes for exhaust pressure sensor high, and exhaust pressure sensor performance. One code for EGR flow high came up. Could the EGR valve be stuck open?

I'm about to have the HPFP recall done and every time I see something like this, it scares me to pause. I'm about "half deleted" so far ... my tune has the EGR off and all of it's annoying codes. If yours is still a vanilla tune - I guess it wouldn't hurt to pull the tube from the cooler to the intake and take a peek at the horrors inside. A lot of us pulled and cleaned that joker - one end has a perforated end on it that could possibly get gummed up. I guarantee you one thing - what you see inside that intake once that tube comes out will give you nightmares - I literally have a brand new intake in a box waiting to go in when I work up the courage to swap it.

I have a pile of intakes already. First one from gummed up swirl valves, second blew out the seam. Third one my swirl valve Actuator took a crap and you cant buy just the actuator you hAve to buy the whole intake and everything. It's not a bad job. Worst part is turbo elbow. The back side bolt has to be got at a slight angle so you need to use a ball end 5mm Allen. I suggest getting the front one first then using a rubber mallet to break it free a little bit. Makes getting that back bolt out a breeze.

Thanks for the heads up - my intention is to pull all the swirl valves out so it simply turns empty shafts, my biggest worry was the spider of fuel lines up top, and the seemingly endless number of electrical connectors that span across the top. Someone told me you can pull one side and flop the whole harness over. It's just a "new" thing since I had mostly a gas-engine background. I thought about doing the throttle body delete too, but haven't fully committed to that one yet.

You know, after-re-reading your title ... I wonder if the variable vane actuator on your turbo isn't packing up?

I've never had any issues with the turbo and I didn't have any issues with it before it sat. I know for a fact the exhaust pressure sensor I basically pink socked it, ripped out all the wires by accident and have had to push them in. I pushed them a couple days ago then after a couple cold starts codes went away. But now they are back again and engine died at idle shortly after starting it. It ran great after I pushed those pins though.. maybe they came loose again I need to actually repin the connector.
