I was curious if the manufacturer date of your truck was pre to Gov't having FCA stop selling the Ecodiesel until they came up with a new tune for the truck. I believe FCA could not sell the Ecodiesel from Jan 2017 to July 29. Then the Gov't accepted the new tune at end of July and allowed FCA...

TC, Is the PCM the same thing as the ECM? I hear folks tossing around terms and not sure if it is all the same thing?

Because this can be a dangerous issue if one is on the freeway going into limp mode and having to try to work your way to the shoulder, I believe this problem should be reported to the Department of Highway Transportation as a safety issue. Could help force a recall.

I purchased my 2017 Ram Laramie Truck back in February. I did my first oil change at 3,500 miles. After my second oil change at 9,000 miles I then put on the oil bypass filter system on and installed Amsoil Signature Series 5w - 40w oil. It took 12 quarts! I have only put another 1,000 miles...

I know it is water under the bridge but I hope you let Ram/Dodge know what they miss out when they don't take care of their customers!!!

Thanks TC for the quick response......is this foam mostly for sound? I live in Atlanta, Ga and if it is for cold weather then I am sure I don't need it.

TC: Can you elaborate more about the foam? The only foam I know is that piece under the engine cover on right side of engine.

I follow your postings and very much and appreciate your knowledge and experience......this will factor into my decision in realizing EGR must be turned off somehow before is destroys the longevity of engine.

Anyone installed an Amsoil Oil Bypass Filter system on a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel? If so, where did you attach bracket on vehicle? Did you fab a special bracket? Any tips would be helpful.
