How many km on your engine? chances are damage is already done. I'm rebuilding my engine after a second catastrophic failure. My advice... sell it for a good price as if its still working. Good luck
Well, the saga continues. After 24,000 k, the new engine (a used one and a bill of 10,000$) experienced a failure as well. The engine didn't seize but started clonking. So I stopped and had it towed. Now, it seems the issue is with a crankshaft bearing again. We're looking at a range of...
Hi, my engine experienced a catastrophic failure (crankshaft seizure) last year. Got no help from the dealer or from Chrysler. I had it changes for a second hand engine at the local garage. I got away with a $10,000 bill... swallow the pill and move one, or so I thought. Well, last Sunday, after...
Did some research and happily it was nothing serious like the electric steering electronic component. The steering universal joint had become stiff so I WD-40ied it and it loosened up in 45 seconds. This is the link to the video I found. It might help somebody. Cheers.
Right. That's a real conscience problem: «Get it fixed and just get rid of it». I just can't do it. «Yeah, The engine failed because of conception problems, so I got it fixed and I'm under $14,000 so I'm getting rid of the problem by passing it on to you dear buyer.»
That would be a...

I had the EGR removed completely at 95k and did 25k with it. It worked wonderfully... until last Sunday.
At 95k I discovered how the soot builds up in the manifold... it was ugly. The MAP sensor was completely clogged. Then I realized this soot goes into the engine... thus my decision to get...
Hi Roy,
Thank you very much for taking a moment to write... much appreciated.
Yes, it does confirm the conclusions I came to after doing some research. Unfortunately.
#3 has been done at 95k but what difference does the straight pipe do?
In your opinion, is the failure caused by the soot...
Well, good morning everyone.
Last Sunday, my wife was driving our 2016 Ecodiesel when a warning flashed for her to stop. She did and the engine immediately shut down and would not start again. When I got there, I tried starting it with no success. The starter would grab but not turn the engine...
Hi! I understand what you are saying. The diesel smell is OK but why in the cabin? My son owns a older 1500 with a Cummins engine and he never experiences the smell inside de cabin. I just don't get it. I never had exhaust smells of the previous «exhaust mix» before inside the cabin. Now, if it...
Thanks for the comment. I understand you're in the middle of resolving the issue. Please let me know how you resolve it. I'll follow up myself if I find the solution.
Thanks for the reply. There is no smell coming from there. It's coming through the windows when I stop the vehicle at a stop sign or at a red light, or the I park it. I never had that problem before. I can't smell anything when I check under the hood while the engine is idling.
Hi everybody, I Had the EGR delete and new tune on april 21... truck runs wonderfully! Gained 65 hp and 2-3 liters/100k. However, When I stop at a light, stop sign or when I park, the cabin fills with annoying exhaust smell. Brought it to the shop twice and he can't figure it out. Any ideas...
