Another engine blow up at 52k, any advice?

I’ve said this before. Diesel engines are not for local city driving. If you have any diesel vehicles as a daily driver, GET RID OF IT! Unless you like being stranded and having your wallet emptied.

Another engine blow up at 52k, any advice?

My 2014 EC 1500 was in the shop for almost 9 months. Ram finally replaced everything from the gas tank to the engine upper end parts: fuel line, all sensors, high pressure pump. Injectors, etc, etc. The had to replace catalytic converter and its sensors. I’ve reported this all before on this...

    FCA warranty denial

As much as I would have liked my Ecodiesel to have lasted longer with less trouble (a previous post stated that my 2014 Ram was in the dealership for 8 months) I was told that Diesel engines are best when driven a lot of miles. They’re really not good to use as a grocery getter or just around...

    FCA warranty denial

The lower portion of the Ecodiesel has been the weak spot in that engine since it’s inception. I got rid of my 2014 EC as soon as I read about this problem since FCA won’t cover the lower end even though I had the extended warranty from FCA from the emissions scandal. I’m telling everyone who...

    Same motor

I had a 2014 ED RAM 1500. I’d dump the EC as soon as possible. Mine spent 9 months at the dealership and even the FCA engineers couldn’t find the problems. They finally replaced over $7,000 in engine and fuel line parts to get me back on the road. This was all under the extended warranty give to...

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

I bought another Ram 1500 because other than the motor problems I absolutely loved it. I got a 2022 new. I had to go to Cleveland, OH to find it due to lack of inventory available. Also I like the air suspension to hook up my boat and the superior ride quality. I got the 5.7L Hemi. They’ve been...

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

BTW I traded in my 2014 Ecodiesel 1500 because I couldn’t bring myself to sell that piece of s**t to some unsuspecting buyer. I was told by more than one to get rid of it before it has major lower end failure. Also, the extended warranty issued to 2014 owners didn’t cover any other year Ram...

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

Ok, so you want specifics. At 93K miles while at Lake Powell, Utah, my truck went into “limp mode” requiring a $1,100 tow to Grand Junction, CO. It took 2 days and $3,000 to get the truck running so I could get back to MI. 3 weeks later the check engine light came on and again the truck went...

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

I owned a 2014 EC 1500 until I traded it in this year. It spent 8 months at the dealership because Ram engineers couldn’t find the problem. I would never own an Ecodiesel as it’s a bomb waiting to attack your wallet!

    Gen3 Ecodiesel

Is the Gen3 Ecodiesel going to have the same problems as the previous engines? I’m considering a purchase of a 2022 Gen3.

    AT

After 6 months I got my 2014 Longhorn Ecodiesel that was "completely" fixed. On the way home the check engine light came on AGAIN with new messages that my DEF fluid was incorrect and my oil required changing. The DEF is the same fluid in the truck when I left it at the dealership 6 months ago...

    P0193

My 2014 EC had the same problem. Its been at the dealership since August 2021. FCA finally decided to replace the entire fuel system from the gas tank all the way to the engine, including the fuel rail , high pressure fuel pump, injectors, other sensors , etc. etc. Haven't gotten it back yet...
