jcj, In MN we have mandatory Bio-diesel Great fuel, I have talk to the chemist dept and Flint hills Refinery (maker most of MN Diesel)
They claim if you mess with the additive package by adding additives it may cause the blend to affect the combination (Separating the bio form the Clear #2) I...
The Cam gear failure is rare.....and if you remove the pump cover and all that death foam , it may give sound of warning, the life of that pump is in how cool you can keep it...That worthless cover and foam for sound deadening is deadening all right, it will deaden it to silent, both engine...
They can be, mine were at 40K miles with 3 times foamed clean.
As long as I keep Stationary desooting the 3.0 2-3 times yearly replace the Plenum, EGR 40-50K miles ,I will be trouble free for years. with great fuel mileage.
Who wants to Spend $3.000.00 in emission repairs every 40/50K Miles? I...
Most fuel additives are snake oil when it comes to soot problems....
"Service Electronic Throttle" I have always been able to remove the message. At times the vehicle was so sooted up it required parts replacement, Plenum, Turbo, intake, EGR... Fortunately in This area we have a very...
It will, and if you check your plenum it will be sooted up.... Your MAP sensor will be 80%+ plugged... and the coolant bottle low even if its mysteriously was suck out.
I don't have AEM software... So I'm just guessing it will be more sooty than the one we have now...... Logic would dictate...
Yep......But just don't hold other Diesels accountable for what FCA/VM did or are doing. Diesels in Pickups are just the best to drive / Pull and the mileage is 15-35% better.
FCA market this ED for family and DD use and its just not the motor for Grocery getting and pick up the Kids at School.
Its a risk.
If I was going to keep My ED....Here's what I would do
1st if it had over 30K Miles complain its using coolant its surging and pulsating, That would required FCA to replace the ERG complete and replace the plenum. I would have the Tech check the Valves for warping and caking...
The whole settle is here https://www.ecodieselsettlement.com/content/dam/fcacourtsettlement/pdf/DOJ_Consent_Decree.pdf
As you read the pages form pages 80 + FCA is NOW ordered to report violations to the EPA, They are also ordered to monitor and implement
My guess the New software will have...
Complete agreement.... and speed has a Huge, Did I say Huge impact drive 55/60 and up to 6K with proper distributed weight and dual braking ( proportional electric) 100% functional.
I've pull ground pressure check in 13.5 With the Dual Axle trailer Pictured (Legal) and (ED) it did not like it.
I've pulled My Trailers sever times with My ED from Rec/Const, its OK to 4500 after that it struggles, I have a fleet of truck and trailers, the 1500s have their place. these are just a few, I also have Trucks GVWs over 80K... Well rounded experiences , I guess you Ya could say.
No its not going to pull it "Pretty easy" ,its going to struggle. 3.55 gears just make it under powered.
Now, that being said if you pull during summer months in temps under 90* and drive 55/65 MPH road ways it will work...
