Like you said, it would make the injectors suspect for improper function, but being starved for air would also cause an over fueled situation. As has been said before, having an app like torque pro, bluedriver or alfaobd to view actual operating parameters is very beneficial to self diagnostics
There's 3 things to really make sure you do on these....... checking the coolant level, making sure coolant is at or above seam in reservoir and checking coolant level!
What I should have said is, you found a nice truck, and with the right touch you should do just fine with it.
Its unfortunate when someone needs to give up something that they have nicely equipped like that.
You said it got a new ECM under warranty, and I wondered if the truck had a tune that...
Can you go into a little more detail here as to why over dosing def destroys the scr wash coat? There is DEF only technology out there like Fiat that was meeting tier 4b emissions without egr.
Thanks
You'd be looking at a 285/70R17 to match it up and you'd still be -.9% on diameter which isn't much. I wasn't gonna go wider than 265 for my winters and they're almost 4% smaller in diameter in a 17 so got them in 18" on an aftermarket rim
No problem, I meant to say that the Ram has 2 size options, the 17" for the more base trim lines and 20" optional for some and standard for the top of the line and the truck is programmed for the difference in overall diameter. So unless you make provisions to adjust your speedo, theres not much...
Oh I was going to mention, there have been some the buy the 17" Ram wheels and put a heavier cross country tire on it but the sizes don't match the 20" very well
I was checking around on sizes when I wanted snow tires and ended up getting an 18" rim and a set of Blizzaks on there to match the size of the 20". It actually rides nicer than with the 20s but I expect it's the tires mostly as my used truck came with 285/60R20 LT tires that take way more load...
Hey no problem, I thought you had pretty much diagnosed the problem already, but you were likely worried that the tune caused something! And maybe the extra boost did! Did you put the baffle back in to fix it?
Welcome, look around some more and you'll find more info on deleting.
It means to illegally modify and typically remove the emissions equipment that is needed for the vehicle to meet the standards of the pollution act.
DPF- diesel particulate filter
ECM- engine control module
EGR- exhaust gas...
I think guys were referring to the small 1/4 drive 8mm socket just because of size so you can get at it, AND so you dont get as much leverage and bust the plug, if that's what you couldn't understand. Good luck, and patience!
