Welcome aboard. Is it not covered by warranty? If not, do what carlhenry says and get yourself a tune that deletes it. It'll be cheaper and make the truck run better/cleaner.
Thanks for posting @2017Texas. I am in the same boat as you. Been waiting to get the EGR recall done (on a list for 4 months now). Once done, the SFT tune is what I'm looking at.
Give a good look-see around the oil filter to see if you knocked a hose loose or broke something while changing it. Also, just to confirm, what oil did you use?
I think the main reason that the EcoD has the limits it does, is because of the inferior cooling system, and it will capably haul more, but you have to be careful with long uphills so you don't overheat it. The new 2020 EcoD does have a little more HP/TQ, but it's got a much better cooling...
You tune the ECM. Better hurry though as the EPA is shutting down some of the tune companies. Check out https://www.sofakingtuned.com/ecodiesel.html#/ as I think they are still operating. There's another company "Green Diesel Engineering" that does it, but it appears that they have been shut...
Congrats! Keep an eye on fluids, especially the coolant. If it starts to drop, then probably a bad EGR cooler, as they are notorious on these trucks. Consider getting a tune for it and enjoy driving it. Welcome to the forum.
