I am contributing... By stating the facts and truths about VM / Fiat I posted the inter Commumications ( 2014-15) between Fiat FCA America about the VM 3.0 failure rates , Fiat continue to produce that Engine .... When any other power plant maker would have stop production and fixed the Rats...
Who ever said anything about the truck? did I? it's the engine....220 rocket I'll pass... on EVs... I have an entire fleet of honorable Trucks.... Both gas and Diesel... (Rams)You should investigate who you deal with both in power plant Makers (Engine) and sources of correct information...
We built several 3000+ HP motors in fact it was our Build (Long Block 6.7 Cummins that won the UC 2785 HP, stayed together the entire season We will be tearing it down next month) we've/I seen the damage Bed plates create over the decades. If you check my postings back in 2020 I forecasted the...
None of the attempts you mentioned 220 rocket would save the VM 3.0 destruction. I been promoting VM 3.0 is Hero - Zero Status... it simply too great of risk to own any VM 3.0.
OA Trends are mandatory on VM 3.0. additional filtration may prolong rotating mass failure. When that bed plate starts to squirm around impending destruction follows IMO. Thier are three different size main bearings match to block , Crank , bed plates , this requires absolute precision spec's...
Thats not bad for 210K Miles..I would replace the intake and carry-on . You obliviously drive your 3.0 properly... Roll into -it, less soot created + HWY Miles.
The dealership has No skilled VM 3.0 Techs, Your 1st mistake Buying one the worst Diesel powerplants in Decades IMO, VM 3.0 history is laden with problems, 2nd mistakes not asking if the Dealership has skilled Diesel tech familiar with VM 3.0 engine problem and history. My guess is you have a...
FCA Fuel control actuator, it has the same meaning as FPR. If debris is found (Metal) you will need to replace or clean everything form fuel tank to Injectors...$$$$. If no debris found its likely your electronic LV. VM 3.0 is not the power plant to own if you're NOT (HPCR) Diesel seasoned, It's...
The FCA is easily accessible takes about 5 minutes, You need to remove and inspect the FCA, that code at times is triggered by contamination (Metal) just prior to the CP4 Grenades itself $$$$$
That worked until thermo-couplers are used to detect the EGR exhaust temps. VM 3.0 has one just after ERG Valve, thus when the Temps don't measure up, then it triggers codes CEL.
Is this used for DD? if so buy gas. It's a Hero/Zero engine, it will soon be completely out of production the value will drop and the cost of repairs will skyrocket in long term ownership.
