Chuck LMBO...YOU obviously Don't know the history of the VM 3.0...FCA LOST 3.5 BILLION ON THAT POS engine. This has been mention 10000+times.."it's a Hero/Zero engine... If you want to throw the dice go for it.. On this engine.. But don't wine when snake eyes show up.
Being 2014 Just dump it....It will never be worth the $$$$$ , Plus the Next engine is at same risk.... Some early 2014-16 Owners went through. 2 warranty Motors and another 1+ Out of pocket Motors.... now that the Motor is out of production plus double the cost and No parts available and!!! the...
The Electronic Fuel RAIL Pressure Regulator if that's what you want to call it (LV, PRV, RV, ) is located on driver side front of Rail... the electronic RVs are a PITR, and NEVER should have been installed ( on any DSL HPCR) IMO, the Mechanical ( LV, PRV, RV ) are less cost and easily replaced...
Let us know if/Who you plan to take action with ? Because FMC has 0 connections to FCA or VM Motori Cento Italy or Fiat. You also did NOT do the research on VM Motori and the 3.0L Produce at Cento Italy BEFORE Purchasing...it's a 3.0L designed for Euro Caddy's that never made production. Every...
Your problem is VM Motori Cento Italy and Fiat, NOT RAM, Plus the VM 3.0 has a history of failures dating back 10 Years, Being a DSL does NOT = longevity. Should have sold back in 2015 before the cat was out of the bag. 1000s of former owner's traded or sold their VM 3.0 between 2015-17...
It likely a fail safe cycle. VM has electronic limiting operations.... which I don't care for. It just another gizmo to fail and requires another gizmo to test.
First HPCR do not conform to logic, they conform to experience. The long cranks are likely related to return rates to high Injectors or the Electronic PRV is malfunctioning. Unplug FCA and see if it starts? -0 Volts is default WO FCA.
John, 1500diesel.xxx is not even close to the membership they claim, You cannot delete your membership completely. Plus it's the same handful of members that do about 50% of the commenting.... Some of the mods attack anyone who post the facts about VM ...Its a honor to be banned. I also look...
It's the inherited risk all VM 3.0 engine incur Hero/Zero status. It will be costly and time consuming to repalce, the replacement will have the same risk.
If you do OAs trends you will get advance warnings ...in most cases......Established trends are required...condemning the engine on 2 or 3 OAs.. elevated levels IMO does not qualify to be a trend.
Its spun Rod or Main Bearing like the 0ther 40K+ failures. It's VM / Fiat that/was the problem, Many at FCA Corp promoted, don't bring that EUR engine to NA, it was developed and designed for 3200LBS Euro Cady's that never made it to production. and when you get that engine replaced Sell BC the...
Yep...and than they will try and tired you out.. Do you have any record of early service... Yes, you have to be extremely diligent with this engine. It's well known of its rotating mass failures over the last 8 9 years....
Yep.. VM 3.0 has IMO the worst failure rate in the last 20+ years , I think it has now surpassed the Ford 6.0 failure ratio. That why You ALWAYS Register your vehicles at the official site and update your service records... If Dealership did the service, it should be record here...
