Accelerator Pedal Position sensor ..... No on the actual gage for 1500....its alarming that most 1500 DSL owners have no idea what oil Pressure actually means.
Tha dash gage is LOM Lie-O-Meter and is program for false readings in all Ram VM3.0. its a switch as long as it reads above 8psi the PCM dictates the Readings according to RPM, Coolant Temp, Load, and APPS.
It does happen...that's why I recommend auxiliary filtration on every DSL that does not have it from the Factory. Debmoore would need more details about the events..
LMBO at dealership comment, be prepared in advance, it's just fine no need to worry. Do OA to confirm the engine may have Puking in the near future. The picture below is My live gage cold at 1200RPMs. Mayet1 don't drive until you confirm what's up, or while you're at the Dealership trade it in.
Boy ..did he get rip Off... Glad to hear your up and running.... Alfa will do More for FCA vehicles and cost about $200.00. with lifetime updates from Alfa.
Snap-on , Autel , Etc work for everything great at Nothing.
You will Need Alfa for the code removal.... In the end you will need someone that knows the work arounds of the system, that likely will require WITECH in the hands of someone capable and knowledgeable. Those two words are rare at dealerships or shops in today's world.
Earl if you don't buy 73 Derringer, I have the Banks Bullet I used for 3 Years in My 2015 3.0... The Bullet Does NOT use the OBD port , its plug and Play Rail Pressure and MAP Sensors. Makes the same HP as Derringer.
IMO like the bullet, it leaves the OBD port open for additional Monitor.
I would stack the Derringer with GDE tune, The Derringer at its lowest setting. You may like the results... Both The Banks Derringer/Bullet are pressure Boxes.
Don't tired out..... Its a common problem many VM3.0 owners have faced, it's this simple you either have a Hero or a Zero engine. Thier are very few Ram 1500 DSL that make 100K miles without ( In DD use) some type of costly repair, after that its risky and you had better have $5K in reserve Cash...
Yes..... 3 out of 5 does establish some history. Well if you're going to throw in the towel. there's no reason for Stellantis to cover it under warranty.
I do not know, its not as easy as just changing the CSK sensor, the tone ring flakes off and takes out the sensor, that requires, separating trans from Engine.
You did NOT check the Oil? Its NOT the American Branch of Fiat Now Stellantis its VM Fiat... you need to bash. Who uses the WF? unless -0 for weeks.
VM 3.0 is not the engine to own unless skilled and seasoned Diesel enthusiast, its complex and $$$$$ if needing repairs.
You can Try and reset the Gauge WITECH or Alfa are required to perform this, if it cannot be corrected it will be New DEF Pump/Tank $$$$, This engine is not for teething... its complex and dislike by many Shops and costly to repair.
Dean DSL, Fiat makes some good DSL Power plants FPT industrial https://www.fptindustrial.com/global/en its the VM DSL that's in Rams 1500.
How about more info on VM 3.0 imperfections?
