It's sad that's all the go for on insurance auctions. Go on Copart and IAA and see them sell all the time for 5 to 8k. Especially mechanical issued ones. Engines are super expensive and finding a crankshaft for one is nearly impossible that's not Chinese cast steel. My local Dodge dealer told me they won't even look at a trade in Ecodiesel.
My engine is got 105k miles. It runs great. Def system in deleted( looks like it’s there ) no regeneration ever. Regular oil changes and tire rotation.
What got me the most was when the insurance wanted to give me $200.00 for my brand new, less than 30 days old, $900+ tires. I bitched and they gave me another 250 on them. I told them to kick rocks. I saw an engine just like mine except this one had 93k miles..sold on eBay 3 weeks ago for 6k.

if anyone is going to make money off my truck….its going to be me. Truck can be fixed for 13k.
I came out of the deal with my salvage truck,(that is worth far more than the 5400) no money to buy another one and still owning on the loan. I am good with that. Progressive insurance……not recommended.
