Brake Failure

I had a "near miss" recently involving my 2015 Ecodiesel crewcab 4x4. After a 15 hour drive to my daughter's home, I parked the truck for two days before needing to fire it up. Upon starting it, my brake pedal went to the floor. I checked under the truck and found that the brake line to the front wheels had been chaffed by a wiring harness under the motor and the truck was very quickly losing brake fluid. The mechanic who fixed it said he'd never seen this issue before but he replaced the line, added a rubber hose to provide an extra cushion for the line and then glued the harness against the hose so that it would not continue to chafe the line.
Has anyone seen or experienced this issue or is it unique?
