Check Engine light on with code P2002 on 2015 Ram 1500 Limited with ecodiesel. Oil temp guage stuck on "H"

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Limited Ecodiesel. The truck has 265K+ miles. The check engine light is on with code P2002. I know this is supposed to be something with the DPF. My mechanic checked and filter is good and empty. He tells me the light shouldnt be on, but it is. I noticed when I first started it this morning, the oil temp indicator gauge shows on "H". It never moves. The digital read out display for oil temperature reads normal temperatures. My question is, could this oil temperature guage that appears to be stuck on "H" be tricking the computer into turning on the check engine light, because it thinks the oil temperature is hot? Also, the engine starts and runs fine. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
