Crank position sensor and tone wheel

Truck Year
2015
My name is Beau 2015 ram. So about a year ago I replaced my crank position sensor and tone wheel. My pickup refused to start with sensor plugged in and so after trying to figure it out for a couple days I unplugged the sensor and it took a few seconds to start and has been getting me to work and back since. The truck runs nothing like it did before tone wheel lost pieces and malfunctioned. It was a pretty big job that I have been dreading to redo. Can anyone tell me what would have kept it from starting? I created a bigger issue by not tying the plug out of the way of front drive line and it wrapped around and shredded plug. I currently have a good ground a 5 volt wire and one that has like 1.8 volts. I’m now running a mopar sensor but couldn’t find a mopar tone wheel I’ve mounted tone wheel to harmonic balancer and have a bracket holding the sensor and truck runs the same as the one mounted where it’s supposed to go. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
