Ok so I have a 2015 Eco diesel with 183,000 on it. I've had a handful of issues with it but all have been covered by warranties or recalls. Just recently we took a trip to Florida, well on our drive back home to Indiana, we got about 200 miles from the house and the message came across the dash for the dpf filter being 90% full, so I kept driving it, about 50 miles later it went to 100%. I kept driving it got it home..next morning I had to go into town, pickup started fine went to get out on the highway and my service electronic throttle sensor came on. And put me into limp mode. I've tried clearing the codes to get it to Regen with no prevail. I've bought new code readers, used Alfa OBD nothing, cleaned out the EGR tube, nothin. Soooo my next step is to delete it which I planned on doing anyway. BUT all the tuning sites say that you need the codes to reset before initiating the tune. How am I going to get this crap reset so I can delete this shit box?

SAME, EXACT PROBLEM!
I have been down this rabbit hole and have done....EVERYTHING short of taking it back to the stealership. IDID take it for a diagnosis and didn't like their red flag answers so took it home and started in on it myself.

So, 90% of my reply never posted so, I'm sure you're all confused and, I apologize. No idea why it cut off so much of it.

Anyway, I'm gonna hit the highlights of what I've done so far, by myself, after taking it to the stealership only to have them tell me that they'd first try to swap the B1S1 sensor and force a regen but then, if that didn't work, they'd have to swap the DPF and flash it....cost $4,000+.
(Red flags....red flags everywhere)

Took it home and tried that myself. New sensor, installed (bench tested GOOD, as did the pigtail)
Cleared codes, well, allegedly cleared, but, read codes again....p0428 came back immediately....key in "run" and engine off using Alfa OBD and MX+. Won't regen until cleared of that code.

Back to drawing board. Tried another sensor swap. B1S2... also bench tested good with good pigtail readings. Still the same. Checked "real time" data w/engine off AND running. B1S1 showing 999° ..... flatlined. Didn't budge 1/10th degree....ever. At the time, ambient temps were 80° or thereabouts and truck was dead cold.

It's as if the PCM is ignoring the sensor being there.

I systematically unplugged each and every egt, one at a time, to see what effect and codes showed up. The only one that never changed stats was the manifold sensor, B1S1.

Unplug the others and a new code popped up and was cleared successfully upon plugging them each back in.

Spoke with GDE about a tune (had been planning to install it for a while anyway) but they inform me that the p0428 code must be cleared for their tune to work. Their tune alone will not remedy this issue.

Even if I delete the DPF/SCR, etc. and straight-pipe it, the code still needs cleared and I simply cannot.

GDE says (and I agree) that it should be as easy as swapping a bad sensor, force regen, clear last codes, and drive on. This has not proven to be the case.

I have theories that the factory programming updates have changed the game to a program that tells the PCM to ignore the new and working B1S1 once the vehicle goes into limp mode. Just a hunch but, that would be a great way to force the owner/vehicle back in for pricey, (yet previously unnecessary) service.

That, to my eyes, is sabotage for profit by factory reps. Illegal. But, how would we prove that? No idea. I'm not that smart, it would seem, and don't have the coin to hire anyone else to prove it and, I'm sure that's counted on.

My distrust of tech shops goes deep and reaches far back due to the many past experiences I've had with them lying to myself, and my family and friends and pulling shady shit. Serious, well-earned trust issues.

There have been a few good experiences but, sadly, mostly bad.

So, 2015ecoBooster, did you ever get your issues resolved and, if so, what did you have to do?

If anyone else has any insight other than what I've already tried, please share!

Thank you all!!
