You might get some goodwill from FCA being so close to warranty. It never hurts to ask.

I agree with John. Push for it as they know they have a problem and don’t want bad press on this. FCA has on several cases recently covered or met people half way on engines outside of warranty or providing an engine but not their r&r.

Own 2 2015 eco diesel ram trucks and 2 2015 eco diesel jeeps. Screwed.
Do you have any type of maintenance records for the 3.0? Something like this goes a Long ways with FCA.

Hi Linda
Sorry to hear that, but it may not be as bad as you think. 1 month ago my 2014 with 188,000kms (28,000kms out of warranty) blew a bearing and required a new engine. My dealer’s warranty rep went to bat for me and after producing evidence of maintenance FCA offered me a new engine leaving me with install costs. Here in Canada that motor is just shy of $14K, CAD so a very big relief. The install cost still stung at $3400 CAD, but far better than almost $18k I could have been faced with. BTW, needing this truck to roll at least another 200,000kms, I did all the research I could and went with a full delete and hot tune from mile 1 on the new engine. Don’t think that would have saved the bearing from failing, but the difference is night and day in terms of performance. Me and my Ram are both breathing easier! Good Luck on your repairs and please keep us posted!
