Didn't know I needed a resource like this until yesterday. I just found out my engine needs to be replaced. I am 7643 kms out of warranty. Reading some posts here I have some hope FCA may come to the table. I owe $18,000 on my 2016. With only 107643 kms I never dreamed this was my fate. A $15,000 engine plus install is not a reasonable option. But neither is walking 20km to work everyday.....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you have had a similar experience I could use the help.

How did it fail? Bearings? Fire?

Welcome! Perhaps FCA can help you other, otherwise I would look at a used engine then a local mechanic to get the truck back on the road. That's your best way out at this point if FCA doesn't cover the engine.

Same thing with mine over Christmas. Started out as a slightly off idle. Few days later ticking, 5miles later loud banging with shudders and stalling.

Dealer pulled oil filter and said there was metal everywhere. I asked them to pull the fuel pump amd see if it was the culprit.

Another service manager at a 2nd dealer said if the pump blows it could wash the piston with fuel and cause it to eat itself putting metal in the oil.

Any update on yours?

They tell me bearing failure. Waiting to hear if they will cover it. I provided them all of the oil change receipts over the weekend.

My awesome news. FCA told me today they will cover my engine replacement. I will have to pay labor only.
