Error code PO15E and now at 144000 miles a check antilock brakes message.

My truck keeps showing a PO15E permanent code and causes the check engine light to come on often. I delete the code and the light goes away for few miles then comes back on. Has anyone heard of a cure other than replacing the engine control unit? 2 days ago I turned 144,000 miles and a service antilock brakes and check trailer brake message came on. Is this triggered by mileage or do I have an issue? Thank you all for any help with these questions.
