Glow Plug Replacement

How hard is it to replace the glow plugs? I have the message and need to replace and want to do it before Winter, when they are really needed. I purchased some serious penetrating oil spray... I plan to park the truck, spray the tops of the insert/threads.... and let sit for a couple days, spraying once or twice again.....

Or, is one better to just let a shop attempt this work?

The last thing I want to do is break one off.....

Also..... Is it better to try and spin those plugs out with a cold engine or a warm/hot engine?
