Greeting from H town. AlfaOBD info needed

Hello to all who take the time out and read these new threads. I recently put leveling spacers on my truck and some 35 inch tires. That's when I noticed my speedometer was off due to my android dashcam being off. So I did a little research and ended up buying alfaobd software and a linkMx+
I have had mixed info regarding the security bypass is it needed or not?

I am pretty sure that 2018+ Rams need a bypass cable to write any commands. You can read and monitor without it, but to change tire size, you'll need it.
