gots my first used 2015 EcoD 6m ago @ 129539m, with the code P26AB-coolant bypass valve. what a sweet ride. removed the silencer (I have a turbo?), got a lil bit better peddle action (silly grin)
-Ambient Air Temp sensor craps out, reading 185.
soon after, having driver side door and window problems, only back windows working.
ended up putting on sport mirrors (nice!) with AAT sensor, replacing the stock tow mirrors.
changed the power switch, also changed the door module (mopar). the puddle light has its own connector at the door module, wow.
still not working, no surprise there. meanwhile, checking continuity and wiring.
Then, this nugget...
DEF countdown... 'will not start after yada miles'
however, i did get a final start-up after the 'engine will not restart' message, so i was able to get where i needed (be where you're at, just in case).
AAT now reads -40.
naturally i rigged a bypass at the starter relay, starts and runs fine.
all this was within a few weeks from AAT crapping out, imagine that.
also cleaned the DEF injector and is working.
the codes are:
P26AB RAM Engine Coolant Bypass Valve 'A' Stuck/Open
P026C RAM Fuel Injection Quantity Lower Than Expected
P009A RAM Intake Air Temperature/Ambient Air Temperature Correlation
P0073 RAM Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input
where is DEF in those? my guess is P0073 to other modules thru out the system.
there are no stored codes in the dash readout (really?)
curious... if the AAT sensor reads -40, does that mean theres a signal correlation to the DEF heaters to be on? maybe burned up DEF heater coil and caused the countdown?
this is my RAM story, i have read worse.
still looking for that ghost in the machine...any insight is appreciated.
thank you for your attention
still leaning towards its just a manageable malfunction
