Hello Everyone, I just received a letter from FCA telling me to contact my local dealer to get my HPFP replaced. I haven't called them yet, have been trying to research which of the dealers near me have the best reviews for service or any info I can find on their diesel mechanics. I doubt anyone can help with that in the Greensboro, NC area. Is this a complicated replacement that any certified diesel mechanic can be trusted to do?
I have a 2017 RAM with 88K miles. No problems so far (knock on wood.) Love the truck...

Good luck with that. I just received my 5th. letter from them and the dealership still says there are no parts. Don't have to worry about bad installs when no parts are available!

Hi. We got our repair completed in Dec. We were on the dealer's list for about 6-8 weeks. We went to Stafford in Springfield VA. They were very helpful and kept us informed of our place on the list. They were getting approximately 1 replacement high pressure fuel pump a week. We had to take the truck in once at the beginning for them to inspect. Luckily no failure.

I called my local Dodge dealer the other day and asked about this recall. They are ordering parts and will get back to me when they have them. There are other dealers within a 50-mile radius with the parts to repair this. I wanted to stay local so it would be easier to drop off and pick up the truck, plus I like supporting my local business. Dealer said they have done a few of these, he said it's a 1 day project.

Just had mine completed, you will need to call them and get your parts ordered. Mine took about 4 hours. Hpfp, some other lines and the fuel filter were replaced. Don't over think this.

They just completed mine. Tubes and filter were also replaced. They do not flash the Ecodiesel ECU for the HPFP replacement, they only flash for the Cummins replacement.

Hi John. Have you noticed a decrease in your highway mileage with the new pump?
Don't know as I haven't used a full tank since the recall. Now I'm in Maui for a month so it will be a while

Well it made it about 200 miles after the new pump. Threw a code. P200A. Has never thrown a code. Needs new intake. They are installing now. Pics of the top air flow areas look totally plugged after removing the intake. Cleaned up okay but the channels down into the engine still look like they have junk on the sides. Truck has 171k. Highway miles only. Set the cruise at 72 most times. Never pull a trailer. All recalls complete. Change oil religiously. Am pretty disgusted with this. Is it too late to delete it now? Have a Diesel Performance shop that will do it. Wanted to get 250-300k miles out of the truck. Have pics if anyone wants a look.

Hi John. Have you noticed a decrease in your highway mileage with the new pump?
hello. I have a 2022 with 14,000 miles. got the pump replaced. it seems like i am now using more DEF. My mileage since the change is 28 mpg or so. i was getting 30 on the highway but i purchased the vehicle with 13k miles so i did not have that much history.. trying to determine if anyone else is noticing a mpg decrease.

Recall cannot affect DEF usage. The SCR (DEF) is at the end of the exhaust system to reduce NOx, there's no connection or relationship to the engine.

thanks. i am new to the diesel world. i do see where the recall replacement fuel pump is a slightly lower pressure than the original. In theory that could negatively impact mpg but I am not sure what the real-world impact, if any, is. my last tank was 28.3 mpg with the hand calc. (the truck meter said 29.3) That was about 50% at 60 mph, 20% at 75 mph and 30% stop and go at 30mph. overall that's pretty good i think. With my truck at 14k miles and still in warranty, i am thinking i should have just waited but it's done now.

That's great mileage.
Where did you see " i do see where the recall replacement fuel pump is a slightly lower pressure than the original."?
