My trailer weighs just with minimum 7500# & when overloaded I was still getting 13.5 mpg @ 70 mph from Long Island N.Y. to Florida 7 times last year & never changed.. I will not overload my trailer anymore cause it's just not safe. Pulling a friends 16ft trailer got 16.5 mpg same trip. Pulling a minivan on the same trip I got 21.5 mpg . & that minivan was loaded with all kinds of furniture & things . So the more aerodynamic the towe vehicle is the better the mpg will be Iam not proud to say I was way over my last trip & besides not being safe still got 13.5 . Great truck takes a lot & handles it well I only have 54000 miles on it but very well dealer maintained. So gets regular services and doesn't miss anything . Hope this helped.
